With only a little over a day's worth of 2009 left, I'm thinking about the age-old tradition of formulating a resolution and wondering if they're really worth the effort. How many of us, with the best of intentions, create a lofty goal for ourselves starting January 1st and then forget it by February? Then we feel guilty come next December because we didn't manage to accomplish said goal. Hmm - should we bother?
Yes. I bother. Sort of.
My goal for 2010 is to be more discriminating about my makeup and beauty product purchases. I am an avid bargain shopper - often feeling the urge to buy a product just because I think it's a good deal. But should I buy that eyeshadow when I probably have others that are close, if not identical, in color? No. Do I need that nice smelling lotion when I already have two other bottles still unopened at home? Probably not.
Now this doesn't mean I will be able to cut out unnecessary purchases completely. Some frivolity in life is necessary, and I know I won't be able to pass up every deal ; )
Good luck to all of you in your resolutions.
